AMG Systems Ltd. is a leading provider of video and communication transmission solutions designed for CCTV surveillance operations in the Transportation and Security Sectors. The company is a global supplier which offers a full range of transmission technologies including multimode and singlemode video, data and audio fibre optic transmission systems; single & multi channel unshielded twisted pair (UTP) links for video, data & audio; multi-port Ethernet switches for the transmission of IP based solutions over fibre, and both analogue and digital wireless products for the transmission of video & data. As a result AMG transmission solutions have been successfully implemented in many high profile projects throughout the world.

AMG Systems Ltd. was formed in 1990 to provide high quality transmission solutions, the company’s early business activities were centred around the Government’s desire to implement town centre surveillance systems. This required transmission products capable of transmitting uncompressed video signals over distances of more than a few hundred metres. AMG therefore designed and developed a series of plug and play products which were brought to market under the brand name Vision™ Series. Most of the projects were single channel point-to-point using one or two fibres per camera, and AMG developed versions both for single-fibre and dual-fibre applications.

Having successfully established themselves in the market with the Vision products, AMG identified that there were increasing requirements in the Transportation sector for high quality transmission systems collecting many camera signals over hundreds of kilometres. At the time the technology used for the collection of CCTV signals was analogue transmission. This meant that a signal could only be repeated a few times before the video quality reduced significantly, and that CCTV signals could only be transmitted to a local control room. Communications between control rooms was extremely difficult. AMG developed a digital alternative which meant that signals could be effectively repeated indefinitely and signals could be added to, or dropped off from, the fibre at each repeat location. This way, a network could be put together such that it would not only collect all the video on a minimum number of fibres, making best use of the existing infrastructure, but could distribute these signals to any control room on the network.

Since then, AMG has recognised the need to develop products to support the ‘mixed technology networks’ that are increasingly required by system designers today. There is now a demand for additional technologies where projects call for more than just fibre based solutions. AMG's research and development team have continued to expand the product range which now includes fibre optic, wireless, ruggedized Ethernet switches and UTP products. All products are individually cased ensuring a rugged, durable system.

AMG is headquartered in Bedfordshire in the UK and has branch offices in Oman, Middle East and India. The company has been built on technical and engineering expertise, from the Directors, Technical pre and post Sales Support, and the Sales Team which means that all customers receive the most professional and informative service in the industry. Working with AMG means you will also benefit from services such as system design, installation, termination and testing, cable supply and network commissioning. AMG offers free training and all clients have direct access to AMG's free technical support service. AMG operates a flexible, reliable and experienced service to ensure your deadlines are met.

AMG provides turnkey systems through its network of approved installers and partners. The Company further designs transmission systems for both the Transport and Security sectors and clients range from Government organisations and major systems integrators, to small installation companies. Within these sectors AMG work on large high profile projects which are of significant importance either nationally or regionally. These include projects on highways, such as the Athens Traffic Management System for the 2004 Olympics, the NRTS (National Road Telecommunications Services) in the UK, and the Indian toll roads for the Highways Traffic Management System (HTMS). AMG have also completed projects for City Centre surveillance, such as London's West End and Dublin City Centre, prison projects, such as HMP Jurby, museum projects, such as the Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar, and entertainment centres, such as the O2 in London.

Additionally, AMG have completed projects for Airports, Rail, Ports, Industrial and Commercial sites, Sports and Leisure facilities, Town and City centres, Military, Universities and Hospitals.
